Terminal documentation

Quasar Trading Terminal and the QuasarGen Script indicator language

What Quasar Trading Terminal is

A desktop terminal in C++20 and Qt6, and documentation for indicator authors.

Quasar Trading Terminal is a desktop trading terminal written entirely in C++20 and Qt6. Not a browser in a shell and not a web page in a window: a native application that draws the chart itself and lives on the trader's machine.

This documentation is for people who write indicators. The terminal's own code is closed, but the indicator language is open: we write our indicators in it, and so can you.

Where to start

  • “QuasarGen Script: the indicator language” — how the language works and how to write your first indicator.
  • “Language reference” — every series, function and setting that exists in version 1.

What to know beforehand

An indicator in the terminal is a formula over candles, not a program. It has no access to files, the network, your account or your orders: it receives candles and returns lines. That is deliberate — somebody else's indicator must have no way at all to harm the trader who installed it.

A script behaves the same on Linux, macOS and Windows: it is not compiled for a platform, the terminal executes it.
